My life and educational experience provide a wonderful
foundation for my work as a Celebrant and Officiant.
I find that the place where art, spirit and empathy
meet is the place where beautiful things can be
created.
I truly believe that my life
experience and studies provide me with a depth
of knowledge about various belief systems throughout
the world, as well as a keen understanding and
compassion for people from all backgrounds and
walks of life.
I hold degrees in comparative
religion, music (vocal performance), and a master’s
from New York University in music therapy. I also
do verbal psychotherapy and will be completing
my LPC (licensed professional counselor) certification
before spring 2006. I believe that my studies
and experience have provided me with a depth of
knowledge about various belief systems throughout
the world, as well as an understanding and compassion
for all different types of people from all kinds
of backgrounds and all walks of life. I find that
the place where art, spirit and empathy meet is
the place where beautiful things can be created!

I am a Certified
Celebrant, graduating from the Marriage Celebrancy
program through the Celebrant USA Foundation.I
continue my close ties with this Foundation
and have had the honor of training with Dally
Messenger, the founder of the Celebrant movement
in Australia and head of the College of Celebrancy.

My spiritual beliefs have broadened and grown
through the years. I was raised Catholic and married
a Jewish man. I have sat zazen in Japanese Zendos,
experienced Tibetan meditation and chanting, studied
liberation theology, Judaic scripture and the
Koran in academic settings. And throughout all
of this exploration what has remained constant
in my life is kindness, respect and service. My
intention is to leave this world a little better
than when I came into it. I may not ever know
exactly “how,” and I personally believe that extending
oneself in whatever way possible is the embodiment
of true spirituality.
